Azura, to Enugu State in a landmark visit that underscored a shared commitment to women’s empowerment, maternal health, and grassroots economic support.

The Coal City came alive with gratitude and celebration as distinguished dignitaries, including eight First Ladies and wives of top federal officials, joined hands with NCWS leaders across all 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State in receiving this powerful delegation.

At the International Conference Centre, Enugu, the First Lady, through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), distributed 10,000 branded scrubs and Crocs to midwives and nurses across the South-East. This impactful gesture is part of the nationwide RHI program aimed at restoring dignity, professionalism, and public trust in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

Further amplifying her support for women, Senator Tinubu announced a ₦50 million empowerment grant targeted at 1,000 women petty traders in Enugu State. Each beneficiary is to receive ₦50,000 to strengthen and grow their small-scale businesses—demonstrating a clear commitment to sustainable economic empowerment at the grassroots level.

In his remarks, Governor Dr. Peter Mbah Commended the First Lady’s intervention, describing it as a milestone in healthcare revitalization. He highlighted the elevation of the Enugu State School of Nursing to collegiate status, now capable of graduating up to 3,000 nurses annually—a major stride in tackling healthcare workforce challenges.

The First Lady also addressed traditional leaders and stakeholders at the House of Chiefs, Enugu State House of Assembly Complex, advocating for national unity and inclusive progress. Later at Michael Okpara Square, she extended further compassion through the distribution of food items and relief materials to vulnerable groups.
