The presentation took place on Friday during the monthly security meeting at the Enugu North Local Government Secretariat, GRA, Enugu.

While handing over the vehicles to the Neighborhood Watch patrol squad and other security agencies, Dr. Onoh said the gesture forms part of his administration’s broader security enhancement strategy aimed at reinforcing the local security architecture and safeguarding the lives and property of residents.

He explained that equipping patrol units with reliable mobility and essential security tools was a deliberate effort to complement the initiatives of the State Government, led by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in the ongoing fight against crime across Enugu State.

Dr. Onoh also outlined other strategic actions being implemented to boost the operational capacity of security agencies and Neighborhood Watch groups in the council. These, he said, include the provision of additional security equipment, intensive training programs on discipline, professionalism, human rights and efficiency, as well as fostering stronger inter-agency collaboration.

Addressing the security operatives, he reminded them of the need to serve with integrity, humility and respect for human rights, while maintaining close working relationships with the police and other allied agencies.

The council boss further assured that more operational vehicles would be provided in the coming weeks for the remaining wards, in order to ensure comprehensive security coverage across Enugu North.

The event was attended by heads of security agencies in the council, including representatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), as well as all Divisional Police Officers in the area.
