The Ije Awele Movement, a foremost socio-political organization renowned for promoting visionary and people-driven governance, has declared its total support for the decision of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Movement described the governor’s transition as a well-thought-out and strategic decision aimed at aligning Enugu State with the national development framework, thereby expanding access to federal partnerships, investments, and opportunities for inclusive growth.
Members of the Ije Awele Movement were fully on ground at the Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, where leading APC stalwarts formally received Governor Mbah into the party in a colourful ceremony attended by an impressive crowd of supporters, stakeholders, and dignitaries. The Movement’s presence at the event demonstrated its unwavering solidarity and commitment to the governor’s leadership and vision.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of Ije Awele Movement, Hon. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, described the development as a defining political milestone that reflects maturity, courage, and strategic foresight. He emphasized that Governor Mbah’s move signals a renewed phase of political and economic engagement that will firmly position Enugu for national relevance and prosperity.
In the same vein, the Director General of Ije Awele Movement, Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa, reaffirmed the group’s loyalty and readiness to consolidate grassroots support for the Mbah administration. He noted that the organization has activated its wide network across all 260 electoral wards in the state to sustain mobilization for the governor under the new political dispensation.
The Movement stressed that its allegiance is guided by principles, not partisanship — rooted in the ideals of good governance, transparency, and visionary leadership. It expressed confidence that the governor’s alignment with the APC will further accelerate infrastructural development, attract more federal presence, and deepen Enugu’s integration into the national development grid.
The ceremony at Michael Okpara Square was widely described as a historic turning point in the political history of Enugu State, marking the beginning of a new era of inclusiveness, progress, and transformation.
