The publication, allegedly attributed to a group identified as the “Awgu People Liberation Movement,” has been described as misleading, unauthorised, and entirely unconnected to the Executive Chairman.

In an official statement issued through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo unequivocally dissociated himself from both the contents of the publication and the faceless group behind it.

“For the avoidance of doubt,” the statement read, “Hon. Uchenna Okolo neither authorised nor endorsed the said statement and had no prior knowledge of the publication.”
The Chairman further condemned the unauthorised use of his image, describing it as unlawful and a violation of extant laws. He emphasised that such actions are punishable and warned against attempts to manipulate public perception through misinformation and politically motivated propaganda.

Hon. Okolo also issued a strong caution to individuals or groups allegedly seeking to disrupt the peace, prosperity, and steady development of Awgu Local Government Area. He stressed that his administration remains focused on governance and service delivery, rather than political distractions.

The statement warned those allegedly being used as instruments for political stunts and misinformation to desist immediately, noting that the law would be allowed to take its full course where necessary.

Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Awgu, the Executive Chairman maintained that he remains steadfastly dedicated to peaceful coexistence, responsible leadership, and people-centred development. He reiterated that he would not be drawn into actions capable of overheating the polity or dragging his office into needless political controversies.

Members of the public and media practitioners were advised to disregard the publication in its entirety and rely solely on verified and official communication channels for accurate information concerning the activities and position of the Awgu Local Government administration.
