
The Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, of the Enugu State Police Command, on the morning of March 9, 2026, received the team responsible for the credentials and physical screening of successful applicants from Enugu State in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables.

During the meeting, CP Giwa charged the team to adhere strictly to the ethos guiding the exercise and to conduct the screening with the highest level of integrity, fairness, and transparency. He emphasized that the process must reflect positively on the Police Service Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation at large.

In response, the screening team assured the Commissioner of their readiness and commitment to ensuring that due process is strictly followed and that only the most qualified applicants emerge from the exercise.

The Police screening team is led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Promise Udeh, while the team from the Police Service Commission is headed by Assistant Director, Obinna Malokwu. Members of both teams are working alongside other relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the screening process.

According to the Command, the team is expected to carry out a meticulous and accurate physical and credentials screening of applicants and subsequently recommend qualified candidates to advance to the next stage of the recruitment process.
The screening exercise commenced on March 9, 2026, at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Agbani Road, Enugu and is scheduled to run until April 18, 2026.
