
The IjeAwele Movement, widely regarded as one of the fastest-growing political movements in Enugu State, recently hosted a grand reception in honour of its former Director General and current Deputy Chairman, Board of Trustees, Comr. Basil Ojengwa, following his emergence as the APC Youth Leader in Enugu State.

The event commenced with an opening address by the Director General of the movement, Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa, who warmly welcomed members and principal executives in attendance. He commended members for their resilience and unwavering commitment, encouraging them not to relent as their efforts would ultimately yield positive results. Hon. Ezinwa congratulated Comr. Ojengwa on his new position, describing it as well-deserved and a recognition of his dedication, diligence, and consistency within both the movement and the party.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of IjeAwele Movement, Hon. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, also congratulated the celebrant, acknowledging his immense contributions to the growth and transformation of the movement during his tenure as Director General. He urged members to leverage the platform provided by IjeAwele to showcase their capacities and advance their political aspirations.

The Deputy Director General, Hon. Chiemelie Dieke, appreciated the leadership of the movement for its progressive journey and commitment to organizational development.

Similarly, the Deputy Youth Leader, Aneke Ogonna Ajay, applauded the leadership structure of IjeAwele for grooming Comr. Ojengwa into a refined leader and pledged continued support for the movement.

In his contribution, the Secretary of the movement, Comr. Ndubueze Ogbonna, attributed the celebrant’s success to resilience and hard work, encouraging members to remain steadfast and committed.

Also speaking, the IjeAwele Coordinator for Isi-Uzo, Atuogu, congratulated Comr. Ojengwa and urged members to emulate his strength, perseverance, and leadership qualities.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization (North) commended the movement for its ideology and its role in nurturing emerging leaders. He also praised the administration of Peter Mbah for fostering an inclusive governance style that creates opportunities for young people to grow and contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.

Coordinator of IjeAwele in Nkanu West, Comr. Udoka, described the new position as a stepping stone to greater achievements, highlighting the celebrant’s humility and dedication to service.

Miss Cynthia Idenyi shared a personal testimony, recounting how Comr. Ojengwa positively impacted her life by leveraging the platform of IjeAwele Movement to create opportunities for her.

In his response, Comr. Basil Ojengwa expressed deep appreciation to the IjeAwele family for providing him with a platform to demonstrate his capacity. He noted that the movement not only enhanced his visibility but also gave him grassroots credibility. He acknowledged the leadership and members of the movement and encouraged continued commitment toward showcasing competence and excellence. He further pledged to maintain a strong partnership with the movement in his new role as APC Enugu State Youth Leader.


The event witnessed a large turnout of members from all 17 local government areas of Enugu State and concluded on a celebratory note with refreshments and merriment.
