Governor Eno made the clarification during a service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, Eket, on Sunday. He explained that his daughter’s appointment was not a product of political expediency but a natural outcome, considering her experience and exposure as Special Assistant to her late mother, Patience Umo Eno.

“The First Lady of the Nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited me and acknowledged my daughter’s role. I want to reiterate that First Ladies are not appointed; they come with the Governor,” Eno said. “My daughter will coordinate the office, ensuring continuity of the late First Lady’s projects, including the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) and support programs for women, the elderly, and vulnerable individuals.”

Eno emphasized that his daughter’s appointment was necessary to sustain his late wife’s legacy. “Even when Jesus died, Peter said to choose from amongst us those that were with Jesus. So, for me, the Office of the First Lady has responsibilities to the women of this State, and my wife had programs she was running,” he explained.

The Governor expressed gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her timely visit and acknowledgment of his daughter’s appointment. He also thanked the Church for their condolences and urged them to find solace in their faith.
