Prof. Hyginus Banko Okibe received a certificate and integrity stewardship award as service Ambassador from Advocacy for Peace and Values re-orientation Abuja in his office.on Wednesday.
Presenting the award during the induction / presentation of the certificate of integrity stewardship award in recognition of the sterling qualities and dedication to service , the Executive Director, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo said that his award for Stewardshp Ambassador was based on the ethical standard in carrying out assignment and duties from his previous work establishment to the present position which took several years of close marking and evaluation.
Comrade Oyibo maintained that Assoc. Prof. Hyginus Okibe was monitored using opinion polls, field survey and questionnaire to get the best result.
He therefore thanked the recipient for keeping and maintaining the standard over time, being resolute and determined to keep to moral transformation of the society through his conduct, dedication and service to humanity.
Comrade Oyibo stressed that the award was as a result of hard work, commitment to ethical values and moral upbringing of the future generation.
The Executive Director reiterated that ENSUBEB Chairman was rated through several pointers and he scored 98% which is indeed excellent and they have no option than to give honor to whom it is due and that was why they came together to honor him.
Receiving the award and Certificate, Assoc. Prof Hyginus Okibe was thrilled, recalling that he paid little attention to the award letter because he need to know who and where they are coming from and also the yardstick for their measurement / assessment.
According to him, the 3 page letter that gave insightful information about the association has no financial obligation attached which made him to give it attention and study them properly.
In expression of his feeling, Assoc Prof Okibe thanked the Executive Governor of Enugu State who has done the State proud in allocating a huge sum of 33% of the budget to Education and the introduction of the Smart School to change the narrative to experiential learning. He therefore called on all to reciprocate the good gesture through dedication to service and working as a family.
The citation of Assoc. Prof. Hyginus Banko Okibe was read by the Public Relations Officer of ENSUBEB, Lolo Nkiru Onuorah which dwelt largely on his personal achievements from one position to another, which culminated to the high standard that gave rise to the award.
Indeed, his service delivery and dedication to duty is outstanding while
his excellent performance and intellectual resourcdefulness were the reasons the University of Enugu State Science and Technolugy retained him as a Lecturer in the department after graduation as the best in his department and faculty.
Assoc. Prof Okibe who had all the requisite certificate ranging from NCE, B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D respectively emerged with flying colours in all , and was even crowned the best graduating student in his immediate Department and faculty which earned him retention as a lecturer in his department after graduation.
As a university teacher, a career path he values so much, he has not stopped demonstrating a unique passion for teaching and quality control at implanting sound, academic discipline and fostering the virtues of excellence in students intellectual development.
Some dignitaries at the event equally praised his dedication to duty, and prompt service delivery.
The Executive Chairman of Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue Mr Ekene Nnamani who was represented by Barr.Arinze Nnamani. in his own speech said that Assoc Prof. Okibe is a meticulous person, highly principled fearless, diligent at all the time butteressing that he is proud of him.
Other admirers and ex. student Mr Ben Okenwa, Joseph Okeke, praised his dedication to duty and prompt service delivery.while Mrs Chinasa Igwe who spoke on behalf of the Management equally expressed her happiness towards the award stating that Associate Professor Okibe is highly principled,detailed and not biased.
