December 1, 2024 – As the festive season approaches, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area (LGA), has extended a heartfelt new month message to Ndi Awgu.

May this month be filled with peace, prosperity, and joy for you and your families as we approach the festive season,” he said.
Okolo highlighted several key milestones achieved by his administration, including the grading of critical roads in Owelli Court, Agbogugu, Amoli, and other communities to ensure better access for the people. “The grading of critical roads in Owelli Court, Agbogugu, Amoli, and other communities is underway. These improvements aim to ensure better access for our people, especially during this festive season, making movement seamless across Awgu,” he explained.
He also noted the progress made in the Portable Water for All in Awgu initiative, which is delivering clean and accessible water to several communities, including Agbogugu, Ihe, Ogbaku, Owelli, Ogugu, Mgbowo, Amoli, Obeagu, and beyond. “The Portable Water for All in Awgu initiative is progressing rapidly, delivering clean and accessible water to communities such as Agbogugu, Ihe, Ogbaku, Owelli, Ogugu, Mgbowo, Amoli, Obeagu, and beyond. This multi-phase project is set to ensure no household experiences water scarcity this Christmas,” Okolo said.
In addition, Okolo announced the installation of 600 state-of-the-art 24/7 CCTV cameras at strategic locations across Awgu to guarantee the safety of lives and property. “To guarantee the safety of lives and property, we are installing 600 state-of-the-art 24/7 CCTV cameras at strategic locations across Awgu. This security upgrade is part of our broader plan to create a safe environment for everyone,” he explained.
Okolo also highlighted the progress made in youth empowerment and innovation, including the Awgu Tech Hub and Awgu Smart Farm projects, aimed at equipping the youth with digital and agricultural skills to drive economic growth and self-sufficiency. “Projects such as the Awgu Tech Hub and Awgu Smart Farm are in motion, aimed at equipping our youth with digital and agricultural skills to drive economic growth and self-sufficiency,” he said.
Furthermore, Okolo noted the commissioning of the re-equipped Type 3 Hospital in Agbogugu by Governor Peter Mbah, which is now a beacon of quality healthcare for Awgu and neighboring communities. “We proudly witnessed the commissioning of the re-equipped Type 3 Hospital in Agbogugu by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah. This state-of-the-art facility is now a beacon of quality healthcare for Awgu and neighboring communities,” he said.
Okolo reiterated his commitment to delivering development across all sectors of Awgu and expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in his leadership. “As we continue these projects and more, my commitment to delivering development across all sectors of Awgu remains unwavering.
