According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, Isyaka and his gang had invaded Sabon-Gari Mangu Matachibu village on December 29, 2024, leaving a trail of terror and devastation in their wake. The hoodlums killed one person and kidnapped two others, who were later rescued through a joint security effort.

The victim, still traumatized by the ordeal, recognized Isyaka as one of the kidnappers and immediately alerted the authorities.

Police operatives from ‘A’ Division in Kontagora swiftly responded to the distress call and apprehended Isyaka. During the preliminary investigation, Isyaka confessed to the crime, and a locally made short gun was recovered from him.

The Niger State Police Command has transferred Isyaka to the Police headquarters in Minna for further investigation and prosecution. The police are also working tirelessly to arrest other members of the gang.

This incident has left the community in shock, with many expressing outrage and disbelief at the suspect’s brazen actions. The Niger State Police Command has commended the victim for their bravery in identifying the suspect and urged the public to continue to cooperate with the police in their efforts to combat crime.

As the investigation unfolds, more shocking details are emerging about the suspect’s motives and the true extent of his crimes. One thing is certain – justice will be served, and the people of Niger State can rest assured that the police will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of truth and justice.
