The program, driven by the Enugu SME Center, aims to equip civil servants with essential digital skills to enhance public service delivery. The graduation ceremony was graced by Mrs. Gill Lever OBE, the British Deputy High Commissioner, who commended the impact of this transformative initiative.

In her remarks, Mrs. Lever emphasized the importance of digital literacy in improving public service delivery, particularly in bridging the global digital literacy gap, especially among women. She applauded the program’s inclusivity, which has empowered a significant number of female civil servants, ensuring equitable access to digital tools and knowledge.

The Enugu Civil Servants Digital Literacy Program is part of the state government’s strategic vision to digitize governance, improve efficiency, and make Enugu the preferred destination for innovation and investment. The program aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s administration’s goal to foster a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric civil service.

The Enugu SME Center plays a pivotal role in preparing civil servants, entrepreneurs, and businesses for the demands of a digitally-driven economy. The center’s efforts are supported by the British Government, which has partnered with the Enugu State Government to drive digital transformation in the public sector.

The graduation ceremony marked a significant step towards achieving a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric civil service in Enugu State.
