Engr. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, the Mayor of Enugu East Local Government Area (LGA), is making waves in the council area with his impressive track record of delivering on projects and programs. This was evident during a recent visit by the State PDP Chairman, Dr. Chukwunweike, who expressed his confidence in Beloved-Dan’s ability to deliver on projects.

Dr. Chukwunweike, who was in the council area to flag off the Ifo layout – Umuchigbo link road project, joined the Abakpa ward 1 PDP ward meeting shortly before performing the flag-off ceremony. In his remarks, he praised Beloved-Dan’s leadership, saying, “Beloved-Dan is someone I have known for a very long time, and I can never doubt his capacity to deliver.”
The State PDP Chairman encouraged the people of Abakpa ward 1 to continue supporting the PDP both at the state and local government levels, citing the party’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
Beloved-Dan’s leadership has been marked by significant developments in Enugu East LGA, including project flag-offs, commissioning, and human capital development programs. His commitment to improving the lives of the people in Enugu East LGA is evident in his actions.
One notable project is the Ifo layout – Umuchigbo link road project, which aims to address the long-standing issue of poor access roads in the area. The project includes the construction of a big culvert and is expected to have a positive impact on the community.
In his remarks, Beloved-Dan stated that Ifo layout had been cut off from Enugu urban for a long time, and its development had been hindered due to the lack of good access roads. He recalled an incident that occurred late in 2024, where a woman fell into a river while trying to cross it to take her child to the hospital in Umuchigbo Iji Nike community. This incident, according to the Mayor, influenced his decision to construct the road, which measures over 1km with a culvert, thereby linking the area and opening it up for economic and infrastructural development.
Beloved-Dan thanked the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for constructing over 9km of roads leading to the area.
Earlier that afternoon, the Mayor and his team attended the PDP ward meeting of Umuchigbo ward, where they were welcomed by a large number of party faithful amidst joy and happiness.
Beloved-Dan’s vision for Enugu East LGA is built on his Disruptive, Intentional, and Visionary leadership, which has been evident in his first five months in office. His focus on programs, projects, and progress has shifted the discussion in party meetings from mere promises to tangible results.
