
A shocking incident marred the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Kano, Nigeria, on Sunday, March 30, when a 20-year-old man stabbed a guard of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II to death on the Eid prayer ground.¹

Another security personnel was also injured in the incident and is currently receiving medical attention at the Murtala Muhammad Hospital in Kano city.
The Kano State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the incident and has invited Wada Isyaku, the Shamakin Kano, for questioning. Abdullahi Kiyawa, the Police Command spokesperson, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack.
