
In a bid to ensure effective implementation of federal constituency projects in Aninri Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member Representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, paid a consultative visit to the council chairman, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, and critical stakeholders of the local government.

The meeting, which took place on April 7, 2025, aimed at discussing opportunities for enhanced federal government presence in implementing projects attracted to the local government. Hon. Onwuegbu expressed gratitude to the executive chairman for the warm reception and acknowledged his efforts to address stakeholders’ concerns.


According to Hon. Onwuegbu, the meeting was to consult the Aninri LG Chairman and critical stakeholders of the local government on the best way to implement the constituency projects of 2025 as it affects Aninri Local Government. “The meeting came out very fruitful; I received a wonderful reception. Obviously, the Executive Local Government Chairman of Aninri is ably running the affairs of Aninri Local Government to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. I got their advice, got their input, and that will help me shape the best way to implement the constituency projects we have for the local government,” he stated.

In his remarks, Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku commended Hon. Onwuegbu for his commitment to collaboration and transparency. “We applaud him for his vision and bold step in engaging with the people of Aninri today, showcasing his commitment to transparency and accountability. His efforts so far have been truly commendable, demonstrating his alignment with the innovative approach of Governor Peter Mbah.”


Hon. Nwanjoku recalled his previous meeting with Governor Peter Mbah, where he was encouraged to collaborate on project executions by any Rep-member or Senator, fostering a spirit of cooperation and progress. “What he is passionate about is Aninri’s growth, and our Representative member has demonstrated that commitment today, outlining numerous initiatives that will benefit us, with plans to collaborate and ensure the success of these projects. As a council, we will provide security and necessary support to facilitate their seamless execution.”



In a separate interview, Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku stated that Hon. Onwuegbu’s decision to consult Aninri stakeholders was wise. “It is a wise decision that he came to interact and interface with the owners of the local government on the best way to assist them. The meeting was fruitful, and I applaud Hon. Onwuegbu for informing the good people of Aninri what he has for them. He is following the footprints of his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.”

The meeting was attended by Aninri stakeholders, including past LG chairmen, past state house of assembly members, past commissioners, aides of Hon. Onwuegbu, and other top government officials.
