Enugu State Wrestler Targets Gold Medal at National Sports Festival

Enugu State’s Juliet Ogu, a talented 76kg female wrestler, has expressed confidence in winning a gold medal at the National Sports Festival Gateway Games in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Speaking at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium before the state’s contingent departed for the games, Ogu assured fans that she would deliver a gold medal in the 76kg female wrestling category. “Expect a gold medal from me in 76 kilogramme female Wrestling category,” she said.

The state’s contingent, comprising 87 athletes and 25 officials, is well-represented and determined to make a strong impression at the games. The Director of Coaching, Ephraim Ochomma, who led the contingent, shared Ogu’s optimism and expects Enugu State to win at least 6 gold medals and several silver and bronze medals. “I expect at least 6 gold medals and a couple of Silver and Bronze medals,” he said.

The Enugu State contingent’s participation in the National Sports Festival Gateway Games is a testament to the state’s commitment to promoting sports development and excellence.
