ENUGU STATE GOV’T CRACKS DOWN ON BRASSAGE: Transport Ministry Nabs Impersonators, Warns Against Extortion

The Enugu State Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with security agencies, has apprehended several unauthorized individuals posing as obstruction taskforce personnel. This move is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to sanitize transport operations and protect residents from extortion and harassment.

The Ministry urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any ESTMA, VIO, or Ad-hoc taskforce officers demanding illegal payments. Reports can be made through the following channels:

To facilitate swift investigation and action, the Ministry requests that members of the public include evidence such as photos, videos, or receipts when making reports.

The Ministry reminds all stakeholders that all its payments must be made through the official e-ticketing platform of the Enugu State Government, reinforcing that No cash collection is permitted under any circumstances.

A stern warning is also issued to all obstruction contractors: ensure your personnel operate strictly within the confines of their contractual terms and the law. Any individual found violating these regulations will face immediate prosecution.

Together, the Ministry and the public can create a safer, more transparent transport system in Enugu State.
