
The Enugu State Government has issued an urgent public service announcement, calling on eligible and energetic youths across the state to take advantage of new recruitment opportunities into key federal paramilitary agencies.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to the announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the recruitment exercise is being coordinated by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and spans four major agencies under the Federal Government of Nigeria. These include:
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
The Federal Fire Service (FFS)
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
The state government is urging all qualified young men and women to seize this opportunity to not only serve the nation but also to build careers rooted in service, discipline, and leadership.
Categories and Qualifications
The recruitment is open under the following categories with corresponding qualification requirements:
A. General Duty – Superintendent Cadre
Superintendent of Corrections (MBBS) – for Correctional Service only
Assistant Superintendent I (Engineering/Law) – for Federal Fire Service only
Assistant Superintendent II – for Bachelor’s Degree or HND holders
B. Inspectorate Cadre
Inspector (Registered Nurses/Midwives) – applicable to NCoS, FFS & NSCDC
Assistant Inspector – for NCE or ND holders
C. Assistant Cadre
Assistant II – for SSCE/NECO holders with five credits including English and Mathematics or Trade Test Grade II
Assistant III – for SSCE/NECO holders with four credits or Trade Test Grade III
Application Procedure
All applications are to be submitted exclusively online via the CDCFIB recruitment portal:

The application period opens on Thursday, 26th June 2025, and will run for three (3) weeks only.
Key Guidelines for Applicants
Applicants are advised to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:
1. Apply to only one agency. Multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification.
2. The application process is entirely free. The public is warned against paying individuals or groups claiming to facilitate applications.
3. All applicants must be Nigerian by birth, aged 18–35 years, physically and medically fit, and of good character.
4. Minimum height requirements: 1.65m for men and 1.60m for women; Chest measurement for men: not less than 0.87m.
5. Computer literacy is considered an added advantage.
The government described the recruitment as a “golden opportunity” for Enugu youths to contribute meaningfully to national development while gaining valuable experience and building productive futures.
Prof. Onyia further called on traditional rulers, community leaders, youth organizations, and local government authorities to help disseminate the information promptly and widely.
The initiative reflects the state government’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and national development through strategic engagement in federal employment opportunities.
