
Enugu East Local Government has etched its name into Nigeria’s aviation history as the first local council to graduate a cohort of aviation professionals. Under the dynamic leadership of Engr. Pst. Beloved‑Dan Obi Anike, 20 youths completed a rigorous two‑month Aviation Management program at the Universal School of Aviation in Lagos and have now returned home to Enugu, ready to contribute to the state’s emerging aviation sector.

Speaking at the certificate‑presentation ceremony, Hon. Obi Ozor, Enugu’s Commissioner for Transport, praised the council’s groundbreaking initiative. “What I have witnessed here today is something I never expected,” he said. “Enugu East is the most prepared council to benefit from the opportunities in our aviation sector.” He added that the council’s proactive approach should serve as a model for other local governments across the state.

The Executive Chairman Engr. Pst. Beloved‑Dan Obi Anike, speaking at the ceremony, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to boosting the Human Capital Index of Enugu East. “Training these 20 youths,and another 40 in our second batch,is fully aligned with our strategic objectives,” he explained. The initiative not only equips local talent with industry‑ready skills but also positions Enugu East to play a pivotal role in the development of Enugu Air and related ventures.
