
The Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Enugu, on February 19, 2026, conducted a Principalship Assessment at the Parliament Hall, Enugu headquarters, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and administrative efficiency in post-primary schools across the state.

The assessment was led by the Chief Examiner, former Deputy Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Sunday Onyebuchi, a public figure widely known for his integrity and commitment to due process. He was supported by other members of the examination panel, Mr. Ejike Okorie and Mrs. Vera Mbah.

Candidates were subjected to a comprehensive evaluation process designed to test their managerial competence, technical knowledge, and adherence to established standards. The assessment covered electronic usage, a written examination, compliance with the Board’s directives and operational guidelines, as well as an oral interview. The structured approach ensured that the selection process remained merit-based and transparent.

At the conclusion of the exercise, the results were officially announced. Mr. Ugbor Edwin emerged first with 26.4 percent and was subsequently posted to Army Day Secondary School, Enugu. Mr. John Okeagu secured second position with 15.8 percent and was posted to Union Secondary School, Oduma. Mr. John Onah Okafor came third with 14.5 percent and was posted to CSS Ibagwa, Nike, while Mrs. Mercy Anekwe placed fourth with 14.4 percent and was posted to Urban Secondary School, Awgu.

In the Obollo Zonal category, Mr. Alphonsus Abugu emerged successful and was posted to CSS, Uda, which was the only available school in the zone.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the assessment, noting that the process was fair and objective. At the end of the exercise, each of the candidates, except one, received a new school posting.
