The project, fully attracted and constructed under his constituency development initiative, was earlier inspected on November 1, 2024, following concerns raised by stakeholders during an on-site assessment. The lawmaker had personally visited the project site, where he engaged with community members and school authorities over the progress and specifications of the construction.

Following the inspection, he directed that the contractor adhere strictly to approved standards and specifications to ensure quality delivery of the facility.

The classroom block has now been fully completed and handed over for use by the school community, marking a significant addition to the school’s learning infrastructure.
Speaking on the completion, Onwuegbu emphasized his commitment to ensuring that constituency projects are not only initiated but also properly executed to meet expected standards.
He noted that the intervention reflects his broader agenda of strengthening educational infrastructure across the constituency and improving access to quality learning environments for students.
School authorities and community stakeholders expressed appreciation for the project, describing it as timely and impactful in addressing classroom shortages and improving academic conditions.
The six-classroom block is expected to significantly reduce overcrowding and enhance teaching and learning at Awgu Boys Secondary School.
