Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In a statement issued by its Media Aide, Joe Udefi, the group said its attention had been drawn to what it termed “unfounded and mischievous” voice notes and publications circulating on social media, allegedly orchestrated by misguided elements to discredit the lawmaker.
The statement noted that although the group would ordinarily have ignored such claims, it deemed it necessary to respond due to what it described as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and undermine the quality representation provided by Engr. Onwuegbu, as well as the integrity of the Nwobi Political Dynasty.
“We therefore urge the public to disregard those publications as they are misleading and unfounded,” the statement read, adding that rebuttals to the allegations were already in circulation.
Highlighting the lawmaker’s achievements, the group described Engr. Onwuegbu—popularly known as Omeiheukwu—as a leader of proven capacity and charisma, who has consistently engaged the Federal Government on the issue of infrastructural decay across Greater Awgu.
According to the statement, such engagements have led to tangible projects, including the rejuvenation of Achi Hospital and the construction of six classroom blocks at Boys Secondary School, Awgu, among other interventions.
It further noted that the lawmaker has supported education through the award of scholarships to beneficiaries pursuing NCE and PGDE programmes.
The group, however, cautioned individuals it described as “attention seekers” to redirect their efforts toward more productive ventures rather than engaging in what it called character assassination against a public servant “working tirelessly for the good of the people of Greater Awgu.”
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of its vision, declaring: “Our future is Green.”
