MBAH HONOURED WITH HONORARY DOCTORATE BY UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON

…As Prof. Ndubueze Mbah Hails Recognition of Governor’s Intellectual Excellence, Enterprise and Transformational Leadership

The Enugu State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ndubueze L. Mbah, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Laws degree (honoris causa) on him by his alma mater, the University of East London.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Enugu State Ministry of Education and the Centre for Experiential Learning and Innovation (CELI), Prof. Mbah described the honour as a distinguished recognition of the Governor’s remarkable journey through intellectual pursuit, enterprise, public service and transformational leadership.

According to the Commissioner, the conferment speaks not only to Governor Mbah’s personal accomplishments, but also to a deeply held conviction that education remains one of the most powerful instruments for expanding human capacity and transforming society.

That philosophy, he said, is increasingly evident in the Governor’s education agenda in Enugu State, including the unprecedented commitment of 33 per cent of the state’s annual budget to education, the establishment of Smart Green Schools, the advancement of experiential learning and sustained investment in digital skills and innovation.

For Prof. Mbah, these interventions represent more than government programmes. They constitute an attempt to build an educational system capable of preparing young people for a future defined by knowledge, technology, creativity and enterprise.

The Commissioner also drew attention to Governor Mbah’s declaration: “I have never accepted the limits of my inherited circumstances.”

He said the statement captures a philosophy of leadership founded on possibility rather than limitation, and offers an important message to teachers, learners and young people across Enugu State that the circumstances into which one is born should not dictate the possibilities of the future.

The honorary doctorate, Prof. Mbah noted, therefore comes as a significant recognition of a leadership journey in which education, vision and service have been placed at the centre of development.

He added that the honour should inspire the people of Enugu State, particularly the younger generation, to appreciate the transformative power of education and the responsibility that comes with opportunity.

The Enugu State Ministry of Education and CELI consequently join family, friends, associates and well-wishers in celebrating Governor Mbah on the conferment of the honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
