Breaking: Mbah Appoints 101 Aides as Special Advisers, SSAs, SAs

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of 101 Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to serve in various capacities across the state government.

The appointments, contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, on Monday, September 21, 2026, take immediate effect.

The new appointees comprise seven Special Advisers (SPAs), six Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and 88 Special Assistants (SAs).

Among the newly appointed Special Advisers are Chief S.N.C. Nwagu, appointed Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution and Mediation; Hon. Dr. Fidelis Odo, Inter-Governmental Affairs and Co-ordination; Augustine Okoli, Policy Affairs and Analysis; Hon. Pedro Nwankwo, Stakeholders Relations and Community Affairs; Chimezie Nkwuo, Economic Development; Chief Vitalis Okonkwo, Grassroots Coordination; and Peter Andy Omeje, Commerce and Business Development.

The Senior Special Adviser appointments include Rachael Okonkwo, Film and Creative Industry Development; Barr. Okey Ude, Inter-Party and Mobilization; Hon. Chinedu Chukwunwike, Party Monitoring; Barr. Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe, Legal and Regulatory Compliance; Chinedu Onyeagba Chukwudi Ozoeluba, Boundary and Land Dispute Resolution; and Frank Udemezue, Small and Medium Enterprise Development.

The Special Assistants were assigned portfolios covering a wide range of areas, including environmental protection, market sanitation and decongestion, health facility maintenance, infrastructure monitoring, youth development, women mobilisation, community engagement, public communication, political mobilisation, rural development, technology and innovation, sports development and social welfare.

Other portfolios include civic education and voter awareness, chieftaincy and traditional affairs, cooperative development, public utilities, cultural orientation, gender advocacy, project monitoring, government communication, social media, security intelligence, urban renewal, regional integration and inter-governmental affairs.

According to the statement, the appointments take effect immediately.
