Prof. Nnamchi Bags Catholic Parish Excellence Award for Youth Investment

— As Lawmaker Awards Bursaries to 84 Outstanding Students, Presents ICT Certificates to Over 1,000 Beneficiaries

Member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi, has received an Award of Excellence from St. Therese Catholic Parish, Phase Six, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, in recognition of his sustained investment in youth development, education and human capital development.

The award was presented on Sunday, September 20, 2026, during the grand finale of the fourth edition of the free Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training programme sponsored by the lawmaker.

The four-day grand finale featured the presentation of bursary awards to 84 outstanding students and certificates to over 1,000 students and youths drawn from communities across Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.

The ICT programme, designed to equip young people with relevant digital skills and improve their capacity to participate effectively in an increasingly technology-driven economy, culminated in the training of 2,927 beneficiaries in its fourth edition.

Presenting the Award of Excellence on behalf of the parish, the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Franklin Udeze, commended Prof. Nnamchi for what he described as his significant contributions to human capital development and his performance in the National Assembly.

Fr. Udeze expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s commitment to empowering young people and prayed for God’s continued guidance, strength and blessings upon him in his service to the people.

Responding, Prof. Nnamchi thanked the parishioners, students and youths for the recognition, attributing his strength and accomplishments to God’s grace and the prayers and support of the people.

He said one of his major priorities in the National Assembly was to ensure that young people across Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency acquire computer literacy and essential digital skills needed to navigate the modern world.

According to him, one of his primary objectives in the National Assembly is to ensure that students across Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency acquire computer literacy and essential digital skills.

The lawmaker stressed that as technology continues to reshape education, employment and economic opportunities globally, young people must be adequately equipped to compete and contribute meaningfully to society.

Earlier, the Programme Coordinator, Engr. Igwe Daniel Nwachukwu, commended parents and guardians for entrusting their children and wards to the programme and for supporting their participation throughout the training.

He urged the beneficiaries to translate the knowledge acquired into practical results, noting that the true impact of the programme would be measured by their ability to use the skills to create opportunities, improve their livelihoods and contribute positively to their communities.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Avian Chimeziterem, who delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressed appreciation to Prof. Nnamchi for investing in the future of young people through the initiative.

She also commended the resource persons for their commitment and assured the lawmaker that the beneficiaries would put the skills acquired during the one-month intensive computer training to productive use.

The successful completion of the fourth edition represents another milestone in Prof. Nnamchi’s ongoing efforts to promote digital literacy, youth empowerment and educational development across Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.
