Nkanu East Decides: Ogbuekwe Casts Vote at Njikoka Polling Unit, Commends Peaceful Conduct

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Mike Chikosolu Ogbuekwe, on Saturday joined thousands of voters across the local government area to exercise their franchise, casting his ballot at Polling Unit 001, Njikoka, Nkerefi Ward, in the chairmanship and councillorship elections.

Ogbuekwe arrived at the polling unit, completed the accreditation process and subsequently cast his vote, joining other eligible voters in participating in the democratic process at the grassroots.

Speaking shortly after exercising his franchise, Ogbuekwe described the election as a significant moment for the people of Nkanu East, stressing the importance of grassroots participation in determining the leadership of the local government.

“Today is an important day for our people and for the democratic process in Nkanu East. I am grateful to have participated in the election and exercised my civic responsibility.

“I thank everyone who has been part of this journey and appreciate the people of Nkanu East for their participation in the democratic process,” Ogbuekwe said.

Across Nkanu East, voters turned out at polling units in the various wards to cast their ballots for candidates seeking the chairmanship and councillorship positions.

The voting process proceeded in an orderly atmosphere, with electoral officials attending to voters as the exercise progressed across the local government area.

With voting concluded in several polling units, attention has now shifted to the counting and collation of results at the designated centres.

Candidates, political parties and their supporters are awaiting the outcome as the electoral authorities proceed with the collation of results from the various polling units and wards.

For Ogbuekwe and the APC, Saturday’s election represents a crucial stage in their bid to secure the mandate to lead Nkanu East Local Government Area.

The final outcome will be determined by the results recorded at the polling units and subsequently collated and declared by the appropriate electoral authorities.
