The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area and All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has cast his ballot at Obodoakpu Square, Polling Unit 010, Agbogugu Ward, as voters across the council area participate in the ongoing Enugu State Local Government election.

Okolo arrived at the polling unit and exercised his franchise, adding his vote to the ballots being cast as Awgu Local Government decides who will lead the council for the next term.
Shortly after voting, the council chairman hailed the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise, commending the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) and security agencies for their handling of the poll.
“This is our democracy. I have just performed my civic duty. I encourage every eligible voter in Awgu and across Enugu State to go out and cast their vote. Let your voice be heard,” Okolo said.
The atmosphere at Obodoakpu Square remained calm and lively, with voters participating in the exercise while supporters cheered the council chairman after he cast his ballot.
With voting underway across the council area, attention remains focused on the various polling units as Awgu residents make their choices in the local government election.
