The Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has cast his vote in the ongoing Enugu State Local Government elections, expressing optimism about the outcome while leaving the final decision to the electorate.

Dr. Onoh and his wife cast their ballots on Saturday at their polling unit at Colliery Technical College, Enugu Ngwo, as voters turned out across the state to elect chairmen and councillors for the 17 local government areas.
Speaking after voting, Dr. Onoh said he was hopeful of victory, attributing his confidence to the work carried out at the grassroots and the interactions his administration has had with residents across Enugu North.
He pointed to various development projects and interventions undertaken across the local government, but acknowledged that the electorate ultimately has the responsibility of assessing the record and deciding who should lead the council.
According to him, the election is about the people and their right to freely choose the candidate they believe can best serve their interests and move Enugu North forward.
Dr. Onoh said he would respect the outcome of the democratic process, expressing confidence that voters would make their choice based on their assessment of the candidates and their records.
Voting is continuing across the 260 wards of Enugu State, including the 13 wards of Enugu North Local Government Area, with voters exercising their franchise under the supervision of the relevant electoral authorities.
The exercise is expected to proceed to counting and collation after the close of polls, with the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) responsible for announcing the official results and declaring the winners.
