Engr. Chief Boniface Umah (Ochiri-Ozuo 1), is marking his birthday with a quiet demonstration of his enduring commitment to the welfare and development of his people.

Rather than making the occasion solely about celebration, Chief Umah has chosen to use the moment to reflect his longstanding passion for service, particularly in the areas of education, youth empowerment and community development.

As part of the birthday activities, the philanthropist visited schools in Mgbowo, where he supported the payment of school fees for a number of pupils and students. The gesture reflects his concern for families facing financial difficulties and his belief that no child should be denied the opportunity to receive an education because of circumstances beyond their control.

Chief Umah has, over the years, established himself as a strong advocate of educational empowerment. Through the Bonny Umah Educational Support Scheme (BUESS), he has supported the education of numerous young people, including the award of scholarships to deserving students across Awgu Local Government Area.

His interventions in education have extended beyond financial assistance, reflecting a broader commitment to helping young people acquire the knowledge and opportunities required to build meaningful futures.

In the area of community development, Chief Umah also made a substantial contribution towards the drainage project in Ezioha as part of his birthday gesture to the community.

Though modest, the contribution is consistent with his practice of marking personal milestones by identifying with practical needs within his community.

Beyond Mgbowo and Awgu, Chief Umah’s philanthropic activities have also extended to supporting individuals pursuing educational and professional opportunities abroad. He has sponsored a number of people for overseas education and other opportunities, helping beneficiaries gain wider exposure and pursue improved prospects.

For many who have benefited from his interventions, his philanthropy represents more than financial assistance. It is an investment in people, families and the future of the community.

As he celebrates another year, friends, associates and members of the community join in appreciating a man whose public-spirited activities have continued to touch lives in different ways.

For Chief Boniface Umah, the significance of the occasion lies not only in adding another year, but also in the opportunity to continue contributing to the wellbeing of others.

Happy Birthday to Engr. Chief Boniface Umah (Ochiri-Ozuo 1).

May the new year bring him good health, strength and greater opportunities to continue making a positive difference in the lives of his people.
