Eguavoen Drops Osimhen, Unveils Super Eagles Squad for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Against Libya

Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has unveiled the 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya, dropping injured Victor Osimhen. The team will face Libya in home-and-away fixtures, with the first match scheduled at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on Friday, October 11.

Notable players included in the squad are Captain William Ekong, in-form winger Moses Simon, midfielder Alex Iwobi, Atalanta star Ademola Lookman, and Sevilla’s Chidera Ejuke. Defender Bright Osayi-Samuel returns to the squad after a brief absence.

Osimhen’s injury absence is a significant blow, but Eguavoen has opted for a strong attacking lineup. Olisa Ndah is also absent due to injury.
