Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development, stated that the Youth Portal was designed to create opportunities for more youth to participate in the program and ensure swift distribution of CNG-powered tricycles to informal youth in the transportation sector.

Speaking at the launch, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Olusanya Olubunmi, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his love and attention towards the youth ministry. He noted that the CNG initiative will reduce transportation costs for both young and old.

Mr. Tosin Coker, Head of Commercial at PCNGI, emphasized that the Presidential CNG Initiative is a palliative intervention by President Tinubu’s administration to provide succor to the masses, especially youth in the transportation sector. He assured continued support to the Ministry of Youth Development and other MDAs.

Alh. Muh’d Sani Hassan, President of the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NACTOMORAS), praised President Tinubu’s administration for bridging the gap between commercial road workers and the government. He stated that the initiative will ensure a better, safer, and cheaper transportation system.

Comrade Olawande appreciated all parties for the successful commencement of the 2,000 tricycle distribution for informal youths in the transportation sector. He noted that the portal launch (www.youthcng.ng) ensures transparency in tricycle distribution and provides a database of beneficiaries nationwide.

“Through the portal, youth anywhere in Nigeria can sign up to be merged with aggregators or owners working with the Pi-CNG program, beginning the process of becoming owners themselves,” Olawande said. He encouraged youth in the commercial transportation sector or interested in joining to enroll for benefits through the Presidential Initiative on CNG.

The Minister concluded that the youth portal fulfills President Tinubu’s aspiration for equal access to government programs, ensuring all Nigerians have the same chances of benefiting from interventions.
