The festival is scheduled to take place on October 12, 2024, at Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu, at 11:00 am.
According to Dame Barr Ugochi Madueke, Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Enugu State, the festival aims to promote Enugu State’s cultural diversity, foster community engagement, and celebrate the Igbo cultural heritage.
Festival Highlights:
- Cultural Extravaganza: Traditional dances, masquerade displays, and music performances from 17 local government areas
- Award-Winning Ceremony: Recognizing the local government area with the biggest yam (Di-Ji) and best yam delicacy
- Cultural Exhibitions: Showcasing Enugu State’s rich cultural heritage through art, craft, and traditional attire
- Community Engagement: Promoting unity, gratitude, and cultural awareness among residents and visitors
- Agricultural Excellence: Celebrating the state’s agricultural achievements and promoting innovation
