The Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Onoh, on Friday, October 11, 2024, presented a cash award to Miss Eneh Peace Chiamaka of Queens School Enugu for representing Enugu North during the International Day of the Girl Child quiz competition held at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.

He expressed pride in her confidence, advising other girls that “the world of today is where everything is possible, what is possible for the man is absolutely possible for the woman.” As a PhD holder in Law, Dr. Onoh recognizes the value of education and actively promotes academic excellence, particularly among girls.
Notwithstanding that Miss Eneh Peace Chiamaka didn’t win the competition, Dr. Onoh appreciated her boldness to participate. The quiz competition brought together girls from 17 local government areas in Enugu State. Queens School Enugu, where Miss Chiamaka studies, is renowned for its academic excellence, comparable to College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu.
Dr. Onoh attributed Queens School’s success to passionate and intelligent teachers. The school’s teacher, Education Secretary Enugu North, Mrs. Nkechi Ugwu, the Enugu North Local Government Cashier, Edith Alum, and Mrs. Ifeoma Don-Egesimba concurred, highlighting the school’s dedicated staff and students.
Miss Eneh Peace Chiamaka, Senior Prefect of Queens School Enugu, thanked Dr. Onoh for the cash award. She also thanked her school principal for ensuring quality academic standards and her teacher for accompanying her to the competition. According to Miss Chiamaka, the team’s vision for the International Day of the Girl Child was “The Girls Vision for the Future.”
The event demonstrated Enugu North’s commitment to education and girl child empowerment, encouraging girls to strive for excellence.
