On Monday, October 14, 2024, Hon. Edeh convened a security council meeting at the LGA headquarters, bringing together security agents, community leaders, and stakeholders. He stressed that until stakeholders, particularly community leaders, prioritize efforts to curb the security menace, the desired peace and stability may not be achieved.

According to Hon. Edeh, “The meeting was summoned to enable me to meet, interact with you, and collectively fashion out possible ways to end security issues in the area.” He urged stakeholders, especially community leaders, to scrutinize inhabitants of their communities, monitor their activities, and report suspicious actions to relevant authorities for prompt action.

Hon. Edeh reassured that his administration will continue to complement the efforts of Enugu State Governor, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in ensuring that residents can sleep with their “two eyes closed.” To achieve this, efforts are being made to provide necessary support to security agencies and review the activities of neighborhood watch in the area.

He reiterated his leadership commitment to eradicating insecurity in Nkanu East by supporting security agencies and community leaders. The stakeholders, in their separate speeches, applauded Hon. Edeh’s proactive approaches to curbing insecurity and pledged to support his efforts to enhance security in their areas.
