…Awgu Council Chairman, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, Hails Governor Mbah’s Commitment to Rural Development
The Enugu State Government, led by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has embarked on an inspection of Smart Schools and Type 2 Health Centre projects across Awgu Local Government Area. This move aims to ensure the projects’ quality and timely completion.
Governor Mbah stressed the importance of adhering to project specifications, quality, and timely completion through the State Inspection Team, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia. The team visited Awgu to inspect the eleven Smart Schools and Type 2 Health Centre projects in the area.
Upon arrival, the team was welcomed by Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, popularly known as “One Day One Project,” who joined the inspection team to assess the construction progress of the Smart Schools and Type 2 Health Centre projects across the eleven wards in Awgu Local Government Area.
Professor Onyia urged contractors and site engineers involved in the constructions to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects that would stand the test of time. He warned that any unethical practices would result in severe penalties by the State Government.
Hon. Uchenna Okolo praised Governor Mbah’s administration for its commitment to rural development through the establishment of 260 Smart Schools and Type-2 Primary Health facilities in Enugu State. Okolo’s sentiments were echoed by the Member representing Awgu South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, who also joined the inspection.
The Local Government Town Engineer participated in the inspection, ensuring that all aspects of the projects were thoroughly examined. The exercise demonstrates the Enugu State Government’s focus on quality and accountability in its development projects.
