Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Executive Chairman of Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) Associate Professor Hyginus Banko Okibe, has said that the administration of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah has zero tolerance to corruption in all its ramifications in the state.

Professor Okibe stated this when he received in audience the Chairman Independence Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) represented by Principal Superintendent Officer of the commission, Enugu office Mrs Chika Egbuke who paid him a courtesy visit in his office as a welcome development and said that the Board is committed to promoting good governance and ethical practices and will key into Governor Mbah’s efforts to entrench accountability and teansparency and fight against corruption and corrupt practices in government businesses.


Prof. Okibe also stated that the recently inaugurated members of Anti-Corruption and Transparent Unit (ACTU) of ENSUBEB will be encouraged and given free hands to operate as the Board will benfit once they discharge their duties effectively.
The ENSUBEB Executive Chairman used the occasion to appreciate the Chairman of ICPC and his management team for their unwavering commitment towards curbing corruption and corrupt practices in the country and urged them never to relent.


He therefore, appealed to the Chairman of ICPC and his officials to see the Anti-Corruption and Transparent Unit (ACTU) of ENSUBEB as their baby and also give the unit all the needed support in discharging of their duties.

In an address, the Chairman explained that the visit was a familiarization one and to congratulate the ENSUBEB Boss, Assoc. Prof Okibe on his new appointment and also wish him a successful tenure in office.
The Chairman who was represented by the Principal Superintendent Officer of the commission Mrs Chika Egbule who is also the Desk Officer ACTU said that the visit was equally to intimiate the ENSUBEB Boss on the main objectives of ACTU and explore the way forward to ensure transparency in the activities of the Board.
She stated that ACTU is a microcosm of the commission expected to carry out all the functions of the commission to checkmate and combat corruption effectively , except prosecutorial duties.

Mrs Egbule then called on the Board Chairman to assist and cooperate with members of the Anti-Corruption and Transparent Unit to exhibit culture of integrity, uprightness and honesty in the discharge of their assignment..
Highlight of the visit was the hand over of ICPC code of conduct and other relevant materials to enable them work effectively .

The ENSUBEB ACTU Chairman Mr Michael Ogbonna who. is also the Internal Auditor of ENSUBEB gave the vote of thanks and pledged to work with his team effectively.
