
As part of efforts to grow and develop potentials of young people, especially young women, a youth Entrepreneurship program that aims to groom and nurture more than 100 new CEO s in diverse skills and professions is taking place in Enugu State.
Speaking to news men in Enugu, today the Founder and Convener of NAIJA Enugu Trade Fair Shopping Festival, CEO Lacreme Hair and Life Style , Miss Enuma Anibueze ,noted that youths especially women will be trained in a forthnight in a programme designed to produce more than 100 new Chief Executive Officers. She pointed out that her firm is partnering with Enugu State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Youth AID Society of Nigeria to build the capacities of youths and especially women in various skills such as catering, cocktail,cake pastries sharwama making ,as well as forex trading ,wigmaking sowing, soap and shoe making .
She expressed delight with the support of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Barrister Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu which she said has been amazing as well as Okwulora Ndigbo who gave #3 million cash grant to students, women business owners and the less privileged ones in Easter edition of NAIJA ENUGU TRADE FAIR AND SHOPPING FESTIVAL,held in March this year at Okpara Square, Independent Layout, Enugu.
Enuma Anibueze, noted, that the aim is to work with small scale , medium Enterprises through trade promotions and exhibitions to encourage young people market their products adding that Cross River State government and Cross River Enterprises Agency is currently seeking and pushing for her collaboration to develop their youths in entrepreneurship .
“We are passionate about pushing young people , especially women business owners in and out of Enugu State. “It is something we are into in the past 7 years. We are basically women centered but youths are not excluded, there is a complete inclusion of youths and men.
However, we are targeting women because there is this stereotype of women making money,being independent, and having some financial security in the family, in the homestead, in the normal average Nigerian family system’.
“We want to break that stereotype and push a number of women, the much we can get to .We have been doing that the past 7 years and we are not excluding any youth. A good number of women and young girls we are empowering can be classified as youths.
So basically we have youths in mind,’ She said. In addition to the training we want to explore the market with the idea of marketing our products in the second edition of NAIJA Enugu Trade Fair Shopping Festival scheduled to hold from 29th November to 1st December 2024, at Okpara Square Independent Layout Enugu. We will be having our Christmas edition of NAIJA ENUGU TRADE FAIR AND SHOPPING FESTIVAL, where we intend to exhibit and showcase our products to buyers.
“Our aim is to get best deals from business vendors for customers at discount rates. More than 100 business vendors will be coming from different parts of Nigeria’.
“It is amazing getting to shop everything you need for Christmas in one space with over 100 vendors with different wares, different crafts , different items ,different businesses coming together to exhibit , to showcase what they have’ She enjoined Enugu residents to troop to the shopping festival to purchase their Christmas needs.
“So basically,there is nothing you would want to miss. Most of the offers come with a lot of discount and amazing offers”. “There will be so much to look out for, there will be free shopping vouchers from vendors and organisers . There will also be musical entertainment , cultural displays promotional items, give aways, fashion run way, kiddies corner etc.
