Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West District, sparked Akpabio’s intervention when he introduced Bianca as “beautiful.” Akpabio swiftly cautioned, “Restrict yourself to the resume. Forget this word beautiful. She didn’t put in the CV that she is beautiful.” The exchange sparked laughter among lawmakers.

Undeterred, Ngwu proceeded to laud Bianca’s impressive profile and competence. Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South, also praised Bianca’s qualifications and President Bola Tinubu’s decision to nominate her. Abaribe noted that Bianca’s appointment promotes unity and national integration, commending the President for bringing an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) member into his cabinet.

Bianca, a seasoned diplomat and lawyer, underwent rigorous questioning from lawmakers. She presented her credentials before the Senate, showcasing her expertise and diplomatic experience. After the screening, she was asked to take a bow, signaling its successful conclusion.

Abaribe hailed President Tinubu’s nomination, stating, “By bringing an APGA person to be a minister, [President Tinubu] has already started a unity government and national integration.” Bianca’s appointment bridges party lines, bringing valuable expertise to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs role.
