
Member Representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu FNSE, Chairman House Committee on Lake Chad Basin Development Authority, has in his spirit of magnanimity in sports development of his constituents launched a sports development program, donating equipment to 10 primary schools.

Beneficiary schools include Central School Amabiriba Okpanku, Central School Odume, Central School Nenwe, Central School Ugwueme, Central School Awgu, Central School Agbogugu, Joint School Isikwe Achi, Central School Umuome Inyi, Central School 1&2 Oji River Urban and Community Primary School Agungwu Ugwuoba.



Donations: volleyballs, whistles, relay batons, stopwatches, angle flags, sports cones, football valves, jerseys, shorts, trophies, writing materials and notebooks.

Onwuegbu emphasized childhood development’s importance, stressing sporting activities’ role, aligning with his education/youth empowerment agenda.


Head teachers, teachers and pupils expressed gratitude, praying for Onwuegbu’s continued guidance. Councillors, School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and community leaders attended presentations. Pupils selected via balloting received jerseys and canvasses, expressing joy.

Onwuegbu previously sponsored 130 students in the National Teachers Institute (NTI) NCE and PGDE scholarship program, demonstrating commitment to education.

The distribution team, led by Sir Ephraim Offiah, Senior Legislative Assistant on Constituency Matters, ensured smooth execution.
