NKANU EAST COUNCIL CHAIRMAN VISITS SMART SCHOOLS PROJECT SITES, EXPRESSES SATISFACTION

The Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, today, 19th of November, 2024, visited the ongoing Green Smart School construction site at Amafor Ugbawka ward 1. During the inspection, Hon. Edeh expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work, noting that the project is being executed in accordance with specified standards.

Hon. Edeh commended the contractor for his commitment to delivering high-quality work and reiterated his commitment to ensuring all ongoing projects initiated by the Enugu State government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, are completed approximately on time. “We are pleased with the work being done and we are confident that this project will significantly improve the lives of our children and reposition the education sector of Enugu State,” he said.

The Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, joined the inspection unannounced and praised Hon. Edeh for his unwavering concern and support to the state government. “I was surprised to see you here as I never discussed about my visit here with you, it is a proof that your commitment is not in doubt,” Prof. Onyia said. He announced that the governor plans to commission all smart schools projects by September 2025.

Prof. Onyia emphasized that the Green Smart School project is part of Enugu State’s initiative to maintain high standards across all schools, focusing on infrastructure, student welfare, and innovative learning. “The Green Smart School project is a significant investment in the state’s education sector, focusing on infrastructure, student welfare, and innovative learning. With the government’s commitment to commissioning these projects, the future of education in Enugu State looks brighter than ever,” he said.

The project includes modern buildings, cutting-edge technology, sustainable energy, and smart farms to support school meal programs and promote sustainable agriculture. This comprehensive approach will revolutionize the educational landscape in Enugu State.
