According to a public service announcement issued by ESWAMA, the cancellation is necessary to allow the State Government to properly welcome visitors attending the funeral of the mother of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.

The late Mrs. Onyia’s burial ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries and well-wishers from across the state, and the Enugu State Government has deemed it necessary to pay its respects by cancelling the clean-up exercise.

ESWAMA regrets any inconvenience this may cause and urges the public to continue maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, properly bagging their waste before disposal.

The authority appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding in this matter and looks forward to resuming its regular clean-up exercises in the future.

In a statement, Andreas Gebauer, Special Adviser to the Governor on Water and Waste, signed on behalf of ESWAMA.

“A Cleaner Tomorrow, Today.”
