Ezeagu Local Government Area has received a significant boost in its security infrastructure, thanks to the generosity of the Ezeagu in Diaspora International Association. The association, in a bid to strengthen security in the area, donated a range of security gadgets to the local government on December 13th, 2024.
The donation, which took place at the Ezeagu Local Government Secretariat, included motorcycles, solar-powered torches, drones, stun master shockers, mini buses, and other essential security tools. The gadgets were formally presented to the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government, Dr. Vita Ndu, by Ezesinachi, who spoke on behalf of the association.
In his remarks, Ezesinachi commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter N. MBA, for his outstanding leadership and developmental strides in the state. He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, which informed the association’s decision to support the local government.
The traditional ruler of Ezeagu, HRH Igwe Emma Anichebe, who is also the Chairman of Ezeagu Traditional Rulers Council, applauded the association’s efforts and pledged their unwavering support for the safety and development of the communities.
The Chief Security Officer of Ezeagu Local Government, Mr. Murphy Anthony Akpata, expressed gratitude to the association for the donation, reiterating the administration’s commitment to enforcing proactive security measures across the local government area. He noted that the donation is a significant infrastructure boost to Ezeagu people and is expected to enhance the safety and wellbeing of council communities.
The donation is a testament to the association’s commitment to supporting the local government in ensuring the security of its people. As the saying goes, “Ndi Ezeagu bu Mmanwu Shinne” (Ezeagu people are one).
