…Showers them with cash gifts
The Prince Akachukwu Global Foundation (PAGF) ushered in the new year with its 7th annual rice distribution exercise, spreading joy and relief to hundreds of deserving women in Mgbowo lese. The event took place on January 1, 2025, at the Ogbo eta field, Ameta Mgbowo, and was led by the foundation’s founder and chairman, Dr. Prince Akachukwu Steve Akachukwu.

Rev. Sr. Ifeoma Imoh led the opening prayer, setting the tone for a day filled with joy, gratitude, and community spirit. Dignitaries in attendance included Gen. F. Azinta, Chairman Ameta Development Union, and Hon. Prince Humphrey Onyima, CEO and Publisher of Leadership Scorecard.

The foundation distributed 400 units of 10kg bags of rice to deserving women, identified through a rigorous shortlisting process facilitated by Parish Priests and Village Heads. The rice was shared among ten persons per family across Mgbowo lese, ensuring the benefits were felt across the community. Women from all five villages in Mgbowo lese benefited from the exercise.

In addition to the rice distribution, Dr. Prince Akachukwu Steve Akachukwu celebrated his birthday with the Market Women in Eke Mgbowo, patronizing their stalls and giving them cash gifts for Christmas, New Year, and his birthday.

The beneficiaries thanked Dr. Prince Akachukwu Steve Akachukwu, praying for him to receive more grace, longevity, and sustainability of his philanthropic gestures. The Chairman of Alechara, Mr. Patrick Chijioke, also commended the benefactor for his kind gestures.

Highlights of the exercise included a presentation of a portrait to Dr. Prince Akachukwu Steve Akachukwu by Akachukwu Harrison, marking a special birthday gift to the foundation’s founder.
