According to a competent source, Mrs. Ekweremadu arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday, sparking widespread celebration across Enugu State.

The former Deputy Senate President’s wife was sentenced to six years in prison by a UK court for her involvement in organ harvesting, along with her husband and Dr. Obinna Obeta. Senator Ekweremadu was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The return of Mrs. Ekweremadu has raised hopes among her family, friends, and supporters that her husband may also be released soon. However, it is unclear at this time whether Senator Ekweremadu’s prison sentence will be commuted or if he will be eligible for early release.

The Ekweremadus’ conviction was related to their alleged conspiracy to arrange for a young man to travel to the UK for organ harvesting. The case drew widespread attention due to the high profile of the defendants and the serious nature of the allegations.
