WARNING: Enugu State Internal Revenue Service Alerts Public to Fake Emblem Scam

The Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) has issued a public notice warning citizens about a fake “NATIONAL FILE Coverage /2025 EMBLEM” circulating in Enugu State.

According to the notice, signed by the Executive Chairman of ESIRS, Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani, the fake emblem is not genuine and is likely being used by scammers to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

The ESIRS has advised citizens to exercise extreme caution and be aware of scammers using fake documents to deceive people. The agency has emphasized that only the 2025 JTB Single Interstate Road Tax Sticker /Emblem and the Intrastate e-emblem are recognized in the state.

“The ESIRS is committed to transparency and accountability in all its operations,” Nnamani stated. “We do not solicit payments or issue tickets through unauthorized channels. Any individual or organization claiming to represent ESIRS for such purposes is fraudulent.”

The ESIRS has urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest law enforcement agency or contact the agency directly.

By reporting this scam, the ESIRS aims to protect citizens from falling victim to these fraudulent activities and to maintain the integrity of the revenue collection process in Enugu State.
