Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, on his familiarisation tour to the community.
The community turned out in large numbers to welcome Hon. Onwuegbu and his entourage, led by notable leaders such as the President General of Agulese/Ugwueme Autonomous Community, Dr. Sunday Okafor, and the Administrator Anike Development Center, Hon. Ndubuisi Nwankwo.
Other dignitaries present at the event included the former Councillor, Hon. Odinaka Udeh, members of the Sociocultural Women Group, Global Ugwueme Women Initiative (GUWI) Worldwide, community leaders, Mr. David Odihekandu and Mr. Osondu Onyele. The President General of Nenwenta was also present in solidarity, along with representatives from D Wallet Kitchens.
The leaders of Ugwueme Community expressed their appreciation to Hon. Onwuegbu for appointing their son, Hon. Michael Nkem Okaibe, as his aide. They also commended him for grading their community road during the Christmas celebration, which made journeys easier for the community.
However, the community leaders also appealed to Hon. Onwuegbu to do more for their community, particularly in the provision of other dividends and asphalting their roads.
In his response, Hon. Onwuegbu thanked the Ugwueme Community for coming out in their numbers to receive him. He described the visit as a private one aimed at assessing the community’s needs and promised to get involved in several areas of need for the community.
Hon. Onwuegbu also thanked the community for their support to the Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah, and encouraged them to remain loyal. He equally appreciated their numerous support for the member representing Awgu South State Constituency, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, as well as the Michael Okaibe-led PDP in their ward.
The lawmaker assured the community that they would get their fair share from his representation, stressing that he would work tirelessly to ensure that the community benefits from his office.
Hon. Onwuegbu’s entourage included Hon. Boniface Uchendu, an SLA; Hon. Engr. Uche Umeh, SSA; Ugwumba Chiedozie Nchekwube, Media Aide; Hon. Chidi Onwuhaka; Hon. Onyekachi Nwafor, SSA; Hon. Michael Udeh, SSA; Hon. Chimaobi Okpara, PA; and Hon. Michael Okaibe, SSA.
The event was described as a successful outing, with the community and Hon. Onwuegbu’s team expressing satisfaction with the visit.
