The Senator Representing Enugu West Senatorial District and Senate Minority Whip, Senator Osita Ngwu today at the floor of the Senate made a Strong Case for the immediate and permanent solution to the persistent carnage at the 9th Mile – 82 division segment of the Enugu- Onitsha Expressway.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Senator who expressed deep pain and regret on the number of Nigerians who lost their lives on the road called for concerted solution to halt the constant mishap on that particular spot of the road, adding that the Governor of Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah and himself have made several efforts towards finding a lasting solution to the problems on the road with no success.
Senator Ngwu explained that the problem with the road is the military check points on the road coupled with the inability of MTN and the Federal Ministry of Works to complete the other lane of the dual carriage road.
This he explained lead to all vehicles using the same lane, including the heavy duty vehicles.
Reacting, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio who has also lost a friend on the said road directed Senator Ngwu to get back to the Federal Ministry of Works, the MTN and all the Stakeholders involved in the construction of the road to urgently find solution to the problems on the road.
He also directed Senator Ngwu to invite them to the Senate for interactions on finding a permanent solution to the problems on the said road.
