The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the monthly clean-up exercise for February will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to a statement released by Andreas Gebauer, Special Assistant to the Governor on Water and Waste Management, the exercise aims to promote a cleaner and healthier environment in Enugu State.
During the exercise, movement of people and vehicles is prohibited, except for those providing essential services, who must show valid identification or an ESWAMA pass. Additionally, all early morning sporting activities, loading and off-loading of passengers in motor parks, and other commercial activities are expected to be suspended during the clean-up exercise.
ESWAMA has also commenced enforcement against illegal dumping of refuse and throwing of dirt from moving vehicles, with offenders to be arrested and prosecuted at the Environmental Court of Law.
The authority has urged residents to cooperate with the exercise and take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment.
