According to sources, the partnership was sealed following a strategic meeting between the Managing Director of NELFUND and the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah.

The collaboration is expected to yield several benefits, including the establishment of NELFUND’s Southeastern Regional Office in Enugu, which will position the state as a hub for education financing and provide seamless access to funding for students.

Additionally, the partnership will enhance tertiary institution engagement through the launch of a high-powered task force to drive awareness, digital accessibility, and seamless integration of student loan applications across federal and state-owned tertiary institutions in Enugu.

The state government has also secured funding for digital economy-focused skills programs, including solar installation and maintenance, tech-driven garment production, and digital fashion design, as well as tech-enabled leather design and manufacturing.

Speaking on the partnership, Dr. Mbah emphasized the importance of education financing and vocational training in driving Enugu’s digital transformation. “Our vision is to create a digitally driven Enugu, where students, startups, and young professionals have access to quality education and globally competitive digital skills,” he said.

The partnership is expected to unlock opportunities for students, startups, and digital entrepreneurs in Enugu State, reinforcing the state’s role as a leader in the digital economy.
