
The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has announced that the Federal Government has given the green light for a new recruitment exercise into the Corps.

He expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for granting approval for the recruitment of qualified Nigerians into the service.
According to Audi, the exact date for the commencement of the recruitment exercise will be announced later. He commended the Bwari Area Council for facilitating the establishment of the new divisional office, stating that the development would strengthen security efforts in the area.
In his remarks, the FCT Commandant of the Corps, Olusola Odumosu, thanked the Bwari Chairman, Dr. John Gabaya, for providing a proper operational base for NSCDC personnel. Odumosu highlighted some challenges faced by the division, including the maintenance and fueling of operational vehicles, and appealed for additional support.
The establishment of the new divisional office is part of efforts to bring security closer to the people and improve operational planning. Since assuming office, Odumosu has created two additional divisions, two area commands, and several observation posts.
The NSCDC plays a crucial role in protecting critical infrastructure, combating illegal mining, and ensuring public safety across the country. The upcoming recruitment exercise is expected to boost the Corps’ capacity to effectively discharge its mandate.
