The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on receiving an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) degree from the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Okolo stated, “On behalf of the council and good people of Awgu LGA, I congratulate you on this crown of honour, being the Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) conferred on you by the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.”
Hon. Okolo praised Governor Mbah’s vision and huge investment in the education sector, which have transformed Enugu State. He highlighted the establishment of 260 Smart Green Schools for the 260 wards, eight science technical and vocational schools (STV) for the eight federal constituencies, the elevation of teacher welfare, and the commitment of 33% of the state’s total budget to education.
These achievements, Hon. Okolo noted, surpass the 15% to 20% benchmark recommended by UNESCO and demonstrate Governor Mbah’s capacity to match words with action in building an Enugu State of their dreams.
